Description

-Purpose. The NIDCD Small Grant Program is intended to support basic and clinical research of scientists who are in the early stages of establishing an independent research career. It cannot be used for thesis or dissertation research. The research must be focused on one or more of the areas within the biomedical and behavioral scientific mission of the NIDCD: hearing, balance, smell, taste, voice, speech, or language. -Mechanism of Support. This FOA will use the R03 grant mechanism. The NIDCD Small Grant is not renewable. -Budget and Project Period. Applications may be submitted for up to four modules of $25,000 each ($100,000 Direct Costs per year), for up to three years of support. Consortium/contractual F and A costs are no longer included in the direct cost limit. F and A costs may be requested in addition to the $100,000/year Direct Cost limit (http://grants.nih.gov/grants /guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-05-004.html). An NIDCD Small Grant will not be awarded during the same Council round as another NIH Research Project grant.
