Privacy Policy
Effective April 2026.
Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information AI Grant Helper collects, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We have written this in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand what happens with your data.
What We Collect and Why
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address. We use this for authentication (magic link login), account recovery, and occasional product updates. We do not collect passwords — our login system uses secure, single-use email links.
Organization and Program Data
When you create an organization and programs, we store the information you provide — organization name, EIN, program descriptions, budgets, geographic areas, and outcomes. This data is used to match you with potential funders and to generate grant application drafts. It is never shared with other users or organizations.
Pipeline and Application Data
Your funder relationships, applications, awards, deadlines, and notes are stored to provide the grant management features you use. This data belongs to your organization and is isolated from all other users via database-level security.
Search and Usage Data
We log search queries to improve search quality and understand what our users need. These logs include the search terms, filters used, and result counts, but do not include the specific results you clicked or viewed.
Payment Information
Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank account details, or other payment credentials on our servers. We receive only a customer identifier and subscription status from Stripe.
AI Tools and Your Data
AI Grant Helper is a signatory of the Fundraising AI Framework for Responsible and Beneficial AI. Our AI tools are designed with privacy as a foundational requirement, not an add-on.
When you use AI-assisted features, your program descriptions and grant application content may be sent to third-party AI providers (such as Google Gemini or Anthropic Claude) to generate drafts and analysis. We do not send your data to AI providers for training purposes. Each AI provider processes your data under their own terms of service and privacy policy.
For more information about how we approach AI responsibly, see our Responsible AI page.
